ISIKLAR

One of the most significant Turkish chestnut varieties, IŞIKLAR has an especially high yield. Another factor in this chestnut variety's appeal is its delicious flavor.

This sweet chestnut type is especially interesting since it may be grown as a single tree by hobby gardeners because it is self-fertile.

Neutral to mildly acidic soil with a high humus content and a loose structure are the ideal site conditions for ISIKLAR. Sweet chestnuts benefit greatly from mulching the tree disk because it increases the humus content over time and helps the soil hold on to moisture longer, which is more beneficial to the plants.

Of course, you can harvest and test individual chestnuts after the first or second year of growth, but the first good harvests begin after the fourth or fifth year.

During the initial years during the growth phase, irrigation is very crucial.

The second part of October is harvest season.
